Considered a leading star among the rising scene of Brazilian bartenders, Márcio Silva learned his trade in Europe, where he had the opportunity to work with key names in the mixology world. Back to Brazil in 2009, was responsible for opening SubAstor, recognized as one of main cocktail bars in Brazil.
Working until 2012 as a mixology manager at CIATC _ Industry behind SubAstor (http://www.ciatradicional.com.br/) he had the opportunity to travel all over Brasil doing research and training sessions for bartenders.
He was one of the few responsible for organizing the Diageo World Class Finals, Rio de Janeiro in 2012 and Azamara Journey in the Mediterranean Sea in 2013.
And was one of judges of the World Class Finals in Colombia in 2014 and 2015.
Márcio also was the global ambassador for Yaguara Cachaça and puts all his expertise to create outstanding drinks with cachaça, the spirit he is passionate about. In order to do so, his researches go through the history of ancient and classic cocktails to meet them with hidden brazilian ingredients. The result is contemporary creations with a local flavor.
Currently, Márcio is a bar industry consultant and bar business speaker in Latin America and a traveling bartender worldwide.
He was responsible for the first cocktail menu launched in early 2016 of Criterion restaurant by Haush Brothers in Bogotá.
Nowadays he is the owner of Guilhotina Bar in São Paulo _ Brazil.
In 2017 Márcio was nominee among top 24 International Bartender of the Year by The Spirited Awards® | Tales of the Cocktail.
